Shekou Sea World is the social heart of expat Shenzhen. The plaza centers on the Minghua — a 1962 French ocean liner permanently docked here in 1984 as a hotel/restaurant complex. Around it: 50+ international restaurants, bars, breweries, and import-grocery shops. "Beer Street" runs east from the Minghua and packs out Thursday-Saturday nights — Belgian beers, Texan BBQ, Korean fried chicken, Spanish tapas, Brazilian churrascaria, you name it. The waterfront promenade extends west to the Sea World Culture and Arts Center (Maki's museum) and east to the Shekou Cruise Terminal — the ferry to Hong Kong International Airport (40 min, 250 RMB) and Hong Kong Central (40 min). Open 24/7; bars peak 22:00-02:00.
