Wuhou Shrine dates to 223 CE (with current buildings from 1672) and is the only memorial in China dedicated to BOTH an emperor (Liu Bei, founding Shu Han ruler) AND his prime minister (Zhuge Liang, China's archetypal wise strategist). For anyone who's read Romance of the Three Kingdoms or played the Koei games, this is mecca. Entry 60 RMB; allow 2 hours. The shrine pairs naturally with Jinli Ancient Street next door (same ticket gate). The Hong (Red) Wall corridor lined with red brick and bamboo is the postcard photo. Pay-attention exhibits: the 14 portrait statues of Shu generals on the east wing, and the original 1672 Sanguo Stele (碑) recording Three Kingdoms history in 4 calligraphic styles.
