Bailuyuan Film City is a 5,000-mu open-set theme park 30 km SE of Xi'an, built around the 1993 Mao Dun Prize-winning novel 'White Deer Plain' (Chen Zhongshi) and its 2017 mega-hit TV drama. The set recreates 1920-40s Republican-era Guanzhong: village courtyards, ancestral temples, market street, opium den, school, watchtowers. Real Shaanxi folk culture: live Qin-opera shows (秦腔), wine-pulling lever performances, Lantian shadow plays, plus the 'Snack Street' with 100+ regional foods (biangbiang noodles, mutton paomo, persimmon cake). Tickets ¥85 + optional cultural shows ¥30-60. Bus 933 from Xi'an Textile City (1 hr) or shuttle from Wangjingjie. Best Sat/Sun for live shows. Allow 4-5 hours.
