OCT-LOFT occupies the 1980s factories of Overseas Chinese Town Group, repurposed in 2008 into Shenzhen's premier contemporary art district. The 600,000m² compound is divided into North Zone (commercial, food, retail) and South Zone (galleries, studios, less crowded). Among 50+ tenants: B10 Live (Shenzhen's main indie music venue), Old Heaven Books (an iconic English-stocked bookstore), Vue Gallery, V&A Gallery + design studios. Weekend markets (Saturdays) bring out independent designers and DJs. Most cafés and bars open mid-afternoon and run late; weekday mornings are gallery-quiet. Free entry; individual exhibits 0-50 RMB. The atmosphere is more 30-something creative class than tourist; bring a camera and budget 3+ hours.

Repurposed 1980s factory district — Shenzhen's answer to Beijing's 798. Galleries, indie cafés, design shops, and live music on weekends.

深圳最有腔调的创意园。OCAT当代艺术中心+独立书店+精品咖啡,周末摩擦音乐节超出片。

Free to wander. The OCAT contemporary art museum has rotating international shows. Coffee culture rivals Singapore here.

Walked the entire LOFT — north zone is design studios, south is street food and bars. The B10 live house is a Shenzhen indie-scene staple.
