Lianhua ("Lotus") Mountain rises 106m in the geographic heart of Futian District. The summit hosts the bronze Deng Xiaoping statue — the de facto memorial to the politician who designated Shenzhen as China's first Special Economic Zone in 1980, kicking off the city's 40-year boom. From the top platform, the view directly south is the postcard Futian skyline (Ping An Tower, KK100, Civic Center on the axis below). The hike is gentle (20-30 min on paved paths) and popular with locals at all hours — kite flyers, ballroom dancers, taichi groups. Sunrise and sunset are the magic windows for photographers. Free entry; open 24h, lit at night. Pair with Civic Center across the road for a 90-minute Futian-axis walk.
