Eling (‘Goose Ridge’) was the wartime KMT’s villa district and is now a 320m-elevation public park. The 8-story Kanjiang Pagoda Tower (瞰胜楼) at the summit gives a 360° view of both the Yangtze and Jialing rivers, plus a clear sightline of Chongqing’s whole downtown peninsula. Free entry to the park and tower. 1-2 hours. Best at sunset (5:30-7 PM) for the gold-to-neon transition over both rivers.
