Yulin became internationally famous via Zhao Lei's 2017 song '成都' that lyricized 'Yulin Road's bar at the corner'. The area is several intersecting streets (Yulin Yi/Er/Si Lu, plus Fang Fang Yuan) of low-rise residential blocks turned into bars, indie record stores, vinyl-listening cafes, and authentic hotpot joints. Less touristy than Jinli or Kuanzhai — locals far outnumber outsiders. The 'Little Bar' (小酒馆 Xiao Jiu Guan) is the canonical music venue and birthplace of Chengdu's indie rock scene. Best time: after 8 PM. The hotpot here is genuinely cheaper than tourist zones — try Da Long Yi (大龙燚) outpost or any of the alley shops. Walking distance from Nijiaqiao metro.
