Designed in 1924 by Hungarian architect László Hudec, Wukang Mansion (formerly the Normandie Apartments) is Shanghai's most photogenic building. The triangular plot where Wukang Road meets Middle Huaihai Road creates a distinctive ship-prow geometry. Over the decades it housed Hollywood-era movie stars, Chinese intellectuals, and political figures. Today the ground-floor café and indie shops are open to the public; upper floors remain residential. The corner sidewalk gets shoulder-to-shoulder with photographers on weekends — early morning is much calmer. Free; combine with Anfu Road and Fuxing Park for a leisurely afternoon.

Saw this on Xiaohongshu before my trip and finally made it. The ship-prow angle from the corner is unreal.

Came at 7:30am — empty street, golden light, perfect photos. By 11am it's elbow-to-elbow.

武康大楼配梧桐树和云朵,永远的城市名片。早上 7 点最美,光线斜射。
