Baiyun ('White Cloud') Mountain is Guangzhou's largest green space, named for the mist that wraps the peaks after summer rain. The highest summit, Moxing Ridge (摩星岭, 382 m), gives a 360° view of greater Guangzhou — on clear days you can see Canton Tower 15 km south. Most visitors take the cable car up from the south gate (¥25 one-way) and walk the ridge trail back down, passing the Cloud Tower (云台花园) with seasonal flower displays, the Mingchun Valley bird park, and a series of Buddhist and Taoist temple halls. Total walking time 2-3 hours easy, or 4-5 hours if exploring side trails. Best on clear days after rain (best sky views) or in autumn (Oct-Nov for the maple leaves). ¥5 park entry + ¥25 cable car. Open 6:30 am - 9:00 pm. Closest Metro: Yuntai Garden (Line 6, then 10-min walk to south gate).
