Huguang Huiguan was built 1759 by migrants from Hubei + Hunan during the 'Huguang Filling Sichuan' (湖广填四川) — the Qing-era forced migration that repopulated Sichuan after war devastation. The compound combines four guildhalls plus three temples for different migrant lineages — Guangdong, Jiangxi, Hubei-Hunan, and the Bayu Cultural Heritage Museum. The wood carvings on the eaves are exceptional. Entry 30 RMB. 90 min. Adjacent to Hongya Cave and Chaotianmen — easy to chain. Best time: weekday morning. The museum upstairs explains the migration in good English signage.
